Heather earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from
Brigham Young University in 2018 after having completed her Bachelors in Social
Work at Utah Valley University in 2016.
Previous to completing her education Heather worked for Intermountain
Health Care for over 19 years supporting families through grief experiences
during the death of an infant or child.
Upon graduation Heather has been working at a substance use recovery
center working with adults struggling with addiction to various
substances. Heather joined the Family
Transitions team in August of 2019.
Heather’s approach to therapy is client centered and
believes in the power of the individual to overcome adversity in their
life. Heather utilizes Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and is certified in EMDR. Heather has worked with clients to address
issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and pornography and
improving communication and life skills .
Heather is a native of San Diego but has been a
Utah resident for over 29 years. Heather
has been married for over 28 years and has seven children. Heather enjoys the beach, traveling, being
outdoors, eating good food and having fun with friends and family.
